Know your braking distance on every road surface (especially on big bikes) and remember to always look for an escape route.
Don't sit behind slow cars or bikes, they are just moving hazards and stress builders. We have torque for a reason, put the hazard behind you.
So you're out on your new Rocket and you get off to fuel it up. Along comes a Harley fanatic that decides he wants to sit on your new Rocket. You tell him to get off but he declines and says no. Are you going to walk away and 'stay in control' or are you going to 'take control' of the situation? (don't say both either!)

He stared back for about 30 seconds and realized he was barking up the wrong tree, and got real friendly then. I told him relax, buddy, I'm a Republican hippy, a rare breed.
