Rivco Risers on sale 49.95

Before I got the risers, I did like you advised and had the deflectors resting against the mirror stems with a bit of tape as a cushion. Putting the risers on pulled the bars back a couple inches and now the deflectors have that much clearance from the stems. The deflectors are still stable at 100 MPH.

Thanks for the feedback. How do you like the bars being back further? I'm not totally uncomfortable but it just seems like I am reaching forward as I would like my elbows bent a little more when riding. What about low speed handling?

Actually, I really like the position of the handlebars better now with the addition of the risers. But I suppose that's purely an individual thing. By the way, I took a trip back to Ontario, Canada a month ago and used the Brake Away you recommended a LOT in eastern Montana,N.D and Minnesota.

So I got risers today and I have been reading information on the post. Before I try to install anything let me get this straight.

Add an extra 1 1/2" on the clutch cable and not 2"...Correct? Most say the throttle cables are not a problem or issue and would not have to be moved from the current routing..Correct? It seems I saw somewhere the front brake line that connects to the cable distribution block is a problem and is too short with the risers... Yes or No?

As I mentioned earlier, I already bought a standard length cable awhile back to carry as a spare. I decided to keep it because I could always do the reroute thing and use it if I broke a cable on the road.

Yes, call up Barnett and tell them you want the stock R3T cable + 1.5. Fits like a glove on 2013 R3T.

Correct, in fact the two sets I have done I did not have to disconnect or adjust the throttle cables. OTOH, I believe someone did and posted on here about that. YMMV

I also saw that post that one person had issues with that but was able to overcome through repositioning of the block (IIRC) but mine does not ABS so I cannot address that particular issue.

I also already had a standard length spare so I still carry it.

The stop nuts on the stock cable are 12mm, the Barnett one are 1/2", just a heads up on the different wrenches you will need.

The front brake line may be a little short but a little bit of persuasion will look after it. Throttle cables are fine. Stock clutch cable will work with rerouting to the gas tank side of the triple tree

Thanks @Bob R ...it sounds good. I have a PM into Paul as I believe he has ABS. If others chime in that will be good. Perhaps I will take a closer look at the block and see how much work to move itva bit just in case.

Persuasion? What kind of persuasion did it take? I'm ruling out the use of a hammer and pry bar! :D:rolleyes::banghead:

Lift the tank for access to the brake manifold. Unbolt it from the frame. The whole unit can be slid ahead and up slightly. I made a bracket to bridge the difference ( about 1" hole centres), and bolted it back up.

I did the same as Jake you can ease the block forward by changing the bend of the brakeline where it runs down the frame near the seat.
I didn't like the re route for the clutch and went just over 1 1/2 inches longer (4cm) with a custom made cable.
Still waiting to go for a decent ride but the risers do make a big difference.
