Removing baffles from stock exhaust

I have an 08 Rocket Touring with a set of TORS mounted. I haven't removed them to look through them, but from shining a light up the exit side they appear to be straight through, with what appears to be a perforated tube through the length. I am not certain if there is fiberglass packing in them or not.

I've been thinking I can just use a whole saw that is a touch bigger than the perforated tube, but I'm not really certain.

Has anyone 'fixed' a set of R3T TORS that could give some advice?

I hate experimenting on expensive bits.

PS - is there anything in the resonator/collector box thing that I can cut out??

Thanks!

Im pretty sure your TORS will have NO baffles -- So no need to drill.....
As far as the crossover/connector goes it may have the cat built into it (I don't know) but you can get a new piece made up to eliminate whatever is in there.

The box on teh R3T is empty - some one posted pictures of one they took apart. There is 1 or 2 baffle plates but removing them won't do much because of way pipes are. You would be better served getting a custom connetor pipe made.

So..... Would there be anything bad that would happen if I drilled out the perforated tube and removed it? I found a hole saw in my tools that fits perfectly.

It shouldn't hurt anything, but you may need to update your tune for it. A couple of days after drilling the first 2 plates, I went back and drilled a 1 3/8" hole through the plate below the perforated tube. It is a little louder, but is still not loud.

I did have to go in and accept the trims on the PCV/AT a couple of times. Some were +20 a couple of times, so I'm guessing it let her breath better.

The butt dyno says it's got a little more pep, but I don't have any solid numbers to support that.

plase can we have some pics of this operation for the intellectctually challenged of us...

I just picked up a complete R3T exhaust system that I am about to experiment with. I have a 2013 R3R and want to try an make a set of long tubes for it out of the factory R3T pipes. I will take a ton of pics and let you all know the outcome... Anyone need the other parts???

All, I'm a little late into the Rocket scene, and just found this thread on debaffling. I just bought a 2010 R3T in March and would like to beef up the sound without breaking the bank. I had an 2009 Suzuki M50 that I debaffled before this. I'm sure it's similar, but some photos/tips/tricks would be great. Also, removing the CAT, tuning tips after mods, etc, would be much appreciated!

I'd like to try this as well but i best keep my hands off the bike in regards to things wich may void my warranty , have to get around legal for now
