REAL New Model news

I don't trust Triumph enough to buy a model that isn't 10 years proven. Which means I have atleast 3 bikes to go through before I buy another Triumph.

If the Diavel motor wasn't already super stressed I'd love to have one, as it is, there isn't a whole lot of headroom.

Rob - I would NOT expect to get into the ECU - UNLESS Triumph offer an offroad-ECU which they will be under a huge amount of pressure NOT TO DO.
iirc one of the key points of Euro4 compliance is that road ECU'S must be tamperproof. And if the Triumph response on earlier bikes is anything to go by - dealers will NOT get reset tooling. Factory reset only. Something PCV-ish will be the only way.

Also we can expect non-stock exhausts to be a real issue. Whilst NOT in the same category - My mate's dealership has just had to deal with an an issue. Guy bought a Euro4 bike. Bought some flash € approved Euro4 compatible pipes. Bike runs like crap and there is no way forward. The post cat lambda simply does not get hot enough. Take it off? Bypass? - worse still. Fortunately he did not sell the bike or pipes - but said owner is pissed.

I hope I am wrong - but we may be a part of a dying breed. Folk who can and may alter their vehicles.
