Ramps

I got mine from Cycle Gear. Don't remember the brand. It is aluminum 1 piece rated for 750 lbs. It is 7 feet long. 1 foot wide. Has 4 tabs at the top to support the ramp and comes with a tether so it doesn't slip off. Been using it since 2008.

What do Harley's and dogs have in common?

They both like to ride in the back of pickups.

Don't mean to be thread thief but couldn't resist.

I would much rather load a D9 Caterpillar dozer onto a float than ride my R3T onto a ramp the D9 is easy but ramping the Rocket another thing

the key to it is not to ride it up with the bike power winching it is soooo much easier usually video of ramp salesmen show you riders revving it up and climbing up ramp without a break looks very easy then after you bought the bike you realize it aint so cool .. I take mine up to the edge of bottom of ramp strap the cable to the hook on the fork and just move it slowly up the ramp while seating atop and holding it straight till front wheel get in the craddle.

You do know that this picture is not politically correct. The truck is a ford and everybody Knows that only Harley's are allowed in the bed of Ford pickups.
never knew I was driving a ford all this time I thought it was a ram in camo

I also have a Ford but with the extended cab, the stupid bed is not long enough. Why Ford decided we need to be able to hold a party in the back seat and not load anything over 6 feet in the bed is beyond me. Finding a 1000lb ramp (that doesn't cost a fortune) is not as easy as you might think. Most triples will say 1500lb but if you read the fine print, that 500lb ramp. I did manage to find one that the manufacturer says will take the weight so we'll see. I want something wide (this is almost 4') so I can walk up with it.

Albertaduke, how do you control the winch and hold the bike at the same time?

Yeah, depends on what "fortune" means, in this case. In general you can get cheap or you can get good. Cheap and good rarely happens for anything.

Another option would be two narrower ramps. It's not as secure, but if you put them side by side you can walk up one while you drive the bike up the other.

But hey, this is the first and last ramp you ever have to buy, most likely, it's not like they go out of fashion. Nobody ever regretted buying quality, but people bitterly regret buying cheap crap every day.

the up/down switch is a narrow handle ( the wire is long enough to make it to the bike handle .
when I start to move up I hold both handlebar and switch handle in the left hand the thumb on the actual up/down switch as I pedal up the ramp under the winch power so far I have found this to be perfectly safe unlike powering up the ramp with the bike motor I also have a strip of sanding belt glued to a strip of plywood centered on the two piece ramp wide enough for the tires just in case,
if I hit the brake I won't slide down, you never know if sh**t hits the fan !! this way I can release and reverse the winch and control the return with the bike;s brake.
