I fitted my RamAir filter when they first came available & to my shame the first time of checking it was today when I removed it for cleaning. No splits or damage at all & although I have cleaned & oiled it, I don't believe it to have been necessary & I expect no better running because of it. I just thought I'd post a success story for RamAir.

And now I remember the trouble I had in fitting it.

I haven't got one yet, but my bike is in maintenance pose, meaning everything is accessible...and I think, having seen how to videos and so on, that if one is slow and methodical it should go easily. I can see where going into it blind could leave you cold, however.

I have one the first ones for about three plus years and had it off for cleaning and oiling, no problems. I am careful when fitting to the throttle bodies but it's ok.

I need a new one...some past owner has over tightened the clamps and split the rubbers on 1 and 2

The older, first generation ones were bad about that. newer generation is much better quality rubber & not prone to splitting
