R3T Top speed

How fast will she go?

126 MPH is as high as the R3T will go?

Hmmm, me and the boys from San Diego would like to send you some GPS screen shots. Most of us have the GiPro or Tune Boy installed, but we're basically a tad fast on the straight-aways....

C'mon, this bike was MADE to go a little faster than the rest. It would be a TRAVESTY to try to keep this thing under the speed limit.

Good point there RS and then you only have to worry about the rev limiter then which can be altered via tune boy to what ever rpm one wants. I think the only problem is you have to have the resitor out to use tune edit or it will just hunt for the gears that it is fooled into thinking it don't have. This happens when trying to use tune boy with the gipro. I have a 06 Classic my rev limiter is at 7950 and I have been road tuning her so today was the first time at 7500 rpms. The A/F was 10.7 so I have to take some fuel out of her in that area but then I set it rich to be safe as it is easier on the motor then startng out lean. she is pretty snappy up there I actually pulled the front wheel up shifting into fourth at 7000 rpms. Something I definetly was not prepared for. Hopefully we can eliminate that problem. I like the front wheel on the ground at all times so I don't screw up

When Triumph finally comes out with the R3 6-speed .... I'm gonna have to part with Phoebe. Thats all the bike is lacking IMO.

I use tune ecu on my R3T and it alows me to raise my speed to 299 KPH.

I think the tires come apart well before that.

just thought i would mention it as a way to go.

Unfortunatelly it isn't so easy.

I did so far:
GIpro in Mod 3
Removing Secondaries
TuneECU (speed limit to 250 kmh, secondaries 100%) Racing tune from Triumph for Tors
and finally 02 Sensor eliminator

Checked on the higway.
The Stock version endet at 185 kmh

Now after alle the mods the spedo shows me something with bit more than 200. Thats all - im must say that I expected more.

The 4. gear is quite aggressiv till 185. The 5. gear is more or less a overdrive.

Nevertheless the bike is very quick - accerlertion is very different to stock. I think most i gained is power and torque but not high speed.

For me its fine. I dont need the kick above 160kmh. Its only there if you need it some day. Just to blow a figther or a vain V-Rod. And of course if you need it in traffic.

I will go for a dyno some day with a friend on stock and we will compare and see. I will post that.

BTW i took a video while trying the high speed thing. I will put the video on youtube soon. Let you know.

Some others have had trouble getting the Touring model to eliminate the speed limiter with the GiPro. I've had no trouble with my standard ... the speedo pegs over 150mph indicated even with the oversize windscreen and bags.
I wonder if it has something to do with that extra wire issue on the touring.

i havent run my R3t to the max yet,(afraid of tire failure.)

had to play catch up with some friends i was riding with and got up to 125 mph very quickly and held with no problems.

did not want to go faster cause i didn't want to become desert decoration.

when i get better tires i will go for the gold and see what happens.

Our tires on the R3T are rated for 130mph..not sure why anyone would care to drive that fast...because you can?????100-110 is plenty quik for me!

That 130 rating is for sustained running.

Come on Daffy, I'm sure she's good for 140+, just don't hold it there for an hour.

Oh, and you might want to pull that windshield off first. You probably won't see the top end you're looking for pushing a barn door.
