I knew it would fly over Daryl's head as he doesn't ride during the winter...he waits for Scot in Exile to pick him up in his cage while Dave wears a kilt.

I ride year round. In the winter, I simply flex my perfectly chiseled buttocks to snap off any ice that starts forming. Oh wait, we're in Florida.

With all that "hot air" in Crestview you travel around in it may not be too cold there, but this past winter we had temperatures in the single digits (probably with wind chill) and I'll be happy to have heated grips just the same. I don't live on the "penisula" down south.

Oh, and the Stallion has heat, so the wife (who am I trying to kid here) will ride with me in the winter. But at least I'll have my choice of a Rocket Tourer (or Thunderbird 1700), a Stallion and, now it looks like, a Ford Ranger for my "trucking", and all around "I'm too old to be riding around in the 15 degree temps" needs.

We had quite a few days in the 20s. In fact, the day they had Toys for Tots in PCola it was in the low 30s. I rode my Tiger over and about froze my butt off. I kept thinking on the way over "You know dumbass, they make handguards and heated grips for this bike". I ordered the handguards the following week. Actually, I'm just joshing you. We have cold weather around here, regardless of what the northerners are led to believe. We just don't have 3 months of it like they do. That's why I opt not to get heated grips. I can't justify the cost for just a few cold mornings a year.

I knew you were just "joshing", I agree about the weather, we actually get about the same type of weather as they get in Virginia (when I was stationed in Norfolk I used to compare the temps)...we just don't get the snow.

When I had the Classic, I enjoyed having the heated grips, they had two settings warm and "hot"...it was nice to have them when needed.

I tried looking up the heated grips for the Classic and the Tourer and they are no longer listed under the accessories section of the Triumph website...strange.

I wouldn't go by what the website says. There are more than a few items available for the T-Bird that aren't listed. Strange, indeed.

Hi all,

I started this thread asking about the Corbin Fleetliner Fairing and towing a tailor with a R3T and it appears we have strayed a little. I am still looking for some input on the above items. Can someone with any experience in these areas fill me in on them

Thanks,
