Guys

seen a lot of stuff about ignition and elec faults and eastern beaver etc.

Would the eastern beaver be a good way to go for the R3R - is it required? and am i correct that its not available yet?

The Eastern Beaver relay kit is not model specific. Unless the ignition switch has been redesigned for the R3R and no longer has the headlight current running through it, I would suggest adding the relay kit.

I just installed the standard dual headlight kit on mine this week, as has been mentioned it works for the R3R. I ordered mine before I heard about the recall, regardless the difference in light output is worth the price, not having to worry about frying the ignition switch is a bonus.

I heard about this recall for R3R's about a month ago, but I couldn't find it on the Triumph recall site. I called my dealer and asked about any recalls for my 2010 R3R and they confirmed that there was one which was designed to decrease the load on the ignition switch. They ordered the parts and I recently had mine installed. I'm happy.

I check my 2011 Roadster VIN on a Triumph web address given to me on this site and I received a response saying there was an outstanding factory campaign, contacted my dealer who told me there was a relay update from the factory.
Have not taken it in yet but I assume its a headlight relay.
Maybe someone on this site will know more.

I checked my VIN as well and got the same thing. I don't want to have to take it 30 miles up the road just for that. Might hold off until next service in which is not to far away.

If beaver is the answer and is better than what Triumph dealer is going to do then I would rather go that route but far as warranty might be better to let them do their thing.????

So spoke to the dealer and they checked the VIN - no recall for my R3R. Now not sure how that works given other '11 R3R's are being recalled. Anyone got anymore info on the recall or copy of the recall notice so I can check a bit further. Was gonna email triumph direct but couldnt find an email addy on their web.

cheers
