R3 vs VRod?

I got into a polite debate a while back about our beloved Rocket versus a Harley VRod. I said something to the effect that the R3 was much quicker and faster ("a VRod couldn't stay in the same zip code with a Rocket"), and the VRod owner quickly took up the other side of the issue. Neither one of us was in a position to do any testing to settle issue, so we just agreed to disagree, and later parted company.

Any first-hand knowledge out there? I know there may (?) be a tiny amount of bias, since this is an R3 community, but am still curoius.

I came across a screaming eagle vrod at a light and he wanted to race
Light changed and we took off and he was behind and stayed there half a mile later was another light we stopped at it and he tried again and lost again
Half a mile later at the third light we stopped and i asked one more time and i will wait till you are through the cross walk before i go still caught and passed him at the fourth light about a half mile down the road we stopped and i asked that all you got im stock and your screamin eagle you could have two of these for the money you spent
Needless to say he was not happy the light changed and we took off again and again i smoked him he was so pissed he blew thrue the last red light .

Thats when i realised there is no harley coming out of the factory that can beat a stock rocket

Most dont even try and those that do die .
Hard to beat all that torque

I had a similar experience and after a ways I stopped and the guy on the Vrod pulled in behind me. He was interested in the Rocket and said,"boy that thing is fast, I,ve had a bunch of work done on mine and couldn't catch you".

You should ask T Evans about his kids bike ... The boy put all kinds of work in his Vrod to beat the old man's stock Classic. I think T said he took back the title for the price of a GiPro. LOL

Mate of ours has a V-Rod Muscle ... we've found the Rockets and his bike to be just about neck and neck in off the mark and roll on drags. Thats the only V-Rod we've ridden with other than a turbo enhanced custom that left us for dead at a 100kph roll on drag that thing hammered !!!

My boss has av rod and always wanted to race, he borrowed my rocket once and when he came back i asked him if he still wanted to race he said NOPE, and handed ne the keys

I raced a vrod muscle (2011) and even with me weighing in at 270 (6'5" tall) I took the lead and kept it. I think they upped the power in 11 too. My 2011 rocket has less power to the wheel then 05s from what I read. Pretty soon that won't matter because my engine will be far from stock

at the drags i have raced about 15 v rods.i have only lost to one vrod and it had cams,tune ,custom exhaust etc.he is about 65 kilos compared to me 100 kilos.the v rod ran a time of 10.7.he smashed me.iran 11.10.

I raced a built one at Atco last year, he waited letting people by just so he could line up against me. I pissed him off so bad he put the bike on the trailer and home he went. The Busa and ZX-14 I stomped took it much better!!!!
