Has anyone seen one of these or have one of these ? It's for sale on eat-me-bay. I believe the starting bid is $175.00 (a little steep). I would love to come up with the dimensions, as it would be pretty easy to make, and would save a lot of BS when setting the valves.

Give us a link Fred so we can have a better look. Don"t believe it myself..... nice fantasy tho......would be good.....

Edit .. found it - from pure Performance Cycles in Florida... seems legit....??? Quote...

Purpose:
The Rocket III valve adjustment special tool is designed to significantly cut down the time it takes to perform major valve service on all Rocket III 2300cc engines including Roadster, Classic and Touring models- all years. This tool was designed with the help of a licensed, factory trained Triumph technician with over 15 years experience in all aspects of European motorcycle mechanics. The tool has been tested and performs perfectly, saving many hours of labor costs allowing higher profit margins for service departments and technicians alike. This tool will easily pay for itself after just one major valve service operations. Get it now before Triumph catches on.

Function:
The special tool allows valve adjustment to be done quickly and easily without the need to remove the camshaft, chain tensioner, cam chain, and thus eliminating the need to adjust the timing. A competent mechanic can remove and replace a shim in less than 15 minutes per valve. The valve adjustment tool works by pushing and holding the spring/bucket down to allow removal of the shim using a pick and magnet without the time consuming procedure of removing and replacing the camshaft and associated components and the resulting timing adjustment which should only be carried out by experienced technicians with all the special tools necessary to remove and replace the crankshaft, components and perform timing adjustment. Operation of the tool is so simple that anyone with basic knowledge of valve service can perform the procedure without the need for advanced training or experience with the Rocket III 2300cc engine.

buy one and rent it out.
It MAY not go the way of Marcus' front end tool,
which has apparently disappeared from the face of the Earth
as I'm still waiting on my turn with it.
Wish I knew who has it, I'd sure send them a polite PM asking for it.
My springs have been sitting here for quite awhile now...

should not be to hard to design one from his only picture. I will have a look see this weekend while I am putting my engine back together.

That's what I thought also. If I don't come up with dimensions before this winter when I check mine again I'll make one. Then I'll make the dimensions available.

Very interesting read!! Thanks.

The tool bolts on to a couple of threaded holes provided in the cam ladder on a lot of Triumph triples. But NOT, regrettably, on the Rocket. Figures!

So, as you say, some modding would be needed.

Would probably work OK, but not real sure how much room you'd have to play with it under the frame tubes. Will have a look over the next few days when I'm in there....

I hadn't realized until I checked the book that I'm supposed to check valve clearance at 10K miles. REALLY hoping no adjustments are needed, I went through the cam removal/shim bull**** on my KLX and it only had 4 valves.
Does anyone know what other manufacturer's shims fit the Rocket? I'd be very surprised if my Triumph dealer has any in stock.

I'm waiting until 20K to check mine; either the dealer (at the 20K service) or I'll have a Carpenter 240 pack <maybe> installed, which would also take care of the valve check with new cams and titanium shims anyway....
