Hi all, got a question.
I’ve a 2010 Classic with a fully standard exhaust and Cat. I would like to know, will a 2011 Roadster collector pipe fit my Classic? I’ve found some after market Cans from a Roadster, so need to fit a collector pipe.
Hi. I hardly ever visit these days as I sold my Rocket about 10 years ago so I’m dealing on past memory here.
First up, the Roadster came out in 2010 so if you have a Classic (or a Standard) it can’t be any newer than 2009. I actually think the last Classics came out on 2008 but could be ‘09. Classics differ from Standards by being two tone paint, floor boards not foot pegs, pull back handle bar, dual rather than 2 piece seat, tapered rather than slash cut mufflers. Of course many Standards have been made to look like Classics over the years, and vice versa. But if you have a three pipe exhaust, you do not have Roadster, which gets me to your question.
I believe the Roadster collector pipe will fit to your bike, but you might need to modify or fab some mount points. The Roadster was the first Rocket to have ABS and as I recall the ABS module was under the bike between the engine and rear wheel somewhere, which meant that it was not possible to fit the three pipe system to a Roadster but doing the opposite shouldn’t be a problem.
Hope this helps, and apologies if I’m wrong - it has been known to happen.
Classic 3 pipe and roadster 2 pipe have different link pipes, i think is what you referenced as collector pipe, cans, silencers, pipes, anywho theyre different,
The compete Roadster system with crossover will fit the 2010 on, it will also fit earlier models but the crossover mounts don’t attach to anything unless you fabricate a bracket.
I’ve run a full Roadster system on my 2008 with the crossover just hanging in the muffler mounts with no problem
Actually Les you’ve reminded me that I had no mounts for crossover on my Foran 2 pipe set up on my ‘09 Standard either. The crossover pipe just sat there on its own.

Just to confirm, this is my model bike. So being a 2010 Registration could be a late one.
So everyone who commented thanks, so I’ll get a 2011 Roadster link pipe as this doesn’t have a catalytic filter in it. With these after market cans fitted, I’ll get the rumble it needs back.
Not just yet, but I’ll be fitting the Ramair kit to it later.

Your bike is a Classic model made up to 2009 I believe
The Roadster link pipe won’t fit if you keep the 3 muffler setup.
There is a 3 muffler Cat delete link pipe available but are very rare to find nowadays

Yes, that’s a Classic. 2009 was the last year for those; there were no 2010s. Looks to be in great condition..
You shouldn’t have any problems fitting a Roadster link pipe and the Roadster mufflers you’ve found but you will almost certainly need to play with mounts. As mentioned, I did something similar with my (long gone) Standard.

I’ve no intention of keeping the three pipes and Catalytic converter, tooooooooo heavy!
As an aside, what part of Brisbane you in? I lived down under for 8 years in the 1990’s, Strathpine, Archerfield and out at Blackbutt nr Kingaroy for 6 months.
Loved riding the Glass House Mountains and was a member of the Wanderers MCTC.
