Quick release sissy bar

Hi All - new to the forum so here goes. Can anyone tell me how the quick release sissy bar work on my R3 touring ?? I have a key and can see where it goes, but all it seems to do is operate a little catch under the bar assembly, which looks more like a helmet lock to me .......

the quick release has 2 laches under the siisy bar u pull the latches up and then push the sissy bar forward a little then raise it up hope this help

push down the latches, don't you?

in the photo attached you can see the key lock arm and black release lever. when you unlock you can raise the release levers on both sides and remove
