Quick release pannier photos or installed

I put aluminium plates on the inside of my panniers to help stiffen them up then mounted them to the easy brackets...much better than pannier rails and you can mount them exactly where you prefer. Bought some 3mm plate from the off-cut bin.
 
Sounds like a grand idea.

Shame I work at a steel fabricators and only can get steel plate and I think 6mm is a bit heavy.

Scrap yard or recycling centre if you do not have the anti-social urge to just steal an aluminium road sign - of no safety significance of course!
