Going to be test riding a Rocket next week.
Need something this size as I'm a big lad! 6'7" @ 20st!. Also my other half is 5'11" & let's just say not a stick insect haha!.
Any hints/tips on what to look out for when buying one of these beasts?
Cheers in advance.
First of all if you are a StMirren fan enjoy the drop second the Roadster did not come on the scene until 2010 you have a std or a classic, if you can go newer it would probably be better as a few bugs were ironed out from the earlier models plus if you go 2010 and newer roadster you will get ABS.
The bike will fit you like a glove and it will go like wee Willie Henderson even with your wife on it.
Well the test ride didn't happen due to snow/rain here in Scotland today.
On the upside I went to look at absolute minted 2006 Classic with only 7700 miles on it & in stunning condition!
No test ride but may well just go ahead & buy it & get on with riding it!!

Hiya, thanks for you info. Canny really go for the 2010 onwards due to the price of them unfortunately. Didn't get a test ride on the standard due to snow/rain here in Glasgow!
Went & saw a 2006 Classic with only 7700 miles & absolutely in mint condition. Considering just getting it & get on with riding the big beastie!!
Fine looking bike ,love it when the warning stickers are still on the bike makes me laugh everytime I see that I was born and raise dion Glenrothes Fife left may years ago to escape pig faced Thatcher after the Miners strike 84/85

I'm 6'8" and I'm fine on an 05. The older Rockets have the foot pegs mounted a few inches farther forward than the newer Roadsters. The only thing I've done so far is loosen the handlebar bolts and pushed them forward a bit. I love this bike and it's a blast, but my 1800VTXS is by far the most comfortable bike I've ever been on.Though it's not as quick, doesn't handle as well, and since I got the Rlll I've fell in love with the smooth triple. They're about in the same price range.
