Here is what they look like cut into the end of the barrel on a S&W 25-5 chambered in 45 Colt. I shoot hardcast 255gr semi-wad cutters out of it at about 850fps. The porting keeps the muzzle jump down. This gun and bullet combo is devastating to bowling pins. I imagine it would most likely go end to end on a deer. Sometimes big and slow is much more impressive than small and fast.

So do I, love revolvers that is, I use a S&W 610 shooting soft 40 S&W for most pistol comps. If I want to turn around and carry it or hunt with it I can stoke it with some hot 10mm. I love that pistol.
