Hi everyone, can someone please recommend pannier inner bags? I don't doubt the hard cases are waterproof, but would make moving kit about at the end of each day when on the road.

I know some members have put in an inner bag, I personally have never had water in mine, I've ridden in some pretty heavy rainfalls, still were bone dry. However...if your coffee travel mug is not sealed properly....that's the only time the inside of my panniers got wet.

Yes Sir, I agree, this is more about having something that can be lifted out in one go rather than unpacking individual items.

I'm not currently aware of anyone making pannier liners for the Touring, unfortunately.

There used to be an outfit called TLC products that made them, but I believe the owner passed and his wife couldn't keep going solo. I got my set just before that happened, or rather right about then. And yeah, they do help a lot when traveling, can just grab the handles and empty the panniers and take the stuff with you in moments.

Any good sporting goods store (REI here in the states for example) will sell waterproof bags of various sizes and various closing systems-look in the kayaking (I believe in "canoeing" in England) section...its a popular item with kayakers. -Doug

Yeah there are various pannier liners out there also in generic sizes, but the Touring panniers aren't generic size. They're pretty narrow and not all that tall either.

Maybe Touring owners should consider banding together and asking around if some outfit could make X amount of sets, X being how many would be interested. Because panniers without liners are a massive pain in the butt when traveling, in my opinion, really relieved to have a set tbh.

Nope, the R3T panniers are pretty darn watertight, I've done an 8-hour run in pouring Norwegian rain and they were bone dry on the inside when I arrived, pannier liners are more so you can just carry the bag out to the bike already fully loaded and shove it inside the pannier, close it and go - and then reverse that when you arrive, just pop the pannier open, grab a handle and take the full contents with you inside in seconds.

I purchased form-fitting Harley bags from Amazon, thanks to a recommendation on this site, and that is exactly how I use mine. Pull up to a motel, lift the bags and go.

I just did a quick search on the site, and did not find the original post. Perhaps with more time, I can find the link where I purchased them.

They were made to fit some Harley bags, and are a good fit for the R3T

That sounds like a good recommendation pse post the details if you happen across them!

HA ! Found it! One of the thousands of gems from @1olbull :

For Sale - accessories for sale

And if you go to that thread, you'll see amazingly, the link to Amazon is still live:

Again, thanks to him, this is what I purchased, and it has served my wife and me well since then.

Now loading them, with the odd interior configuration of the R3T bags takes some doing (your softies go on the outsides, and any tablet, for example needs to be in the middle), and the bags don't quite fill the space longitudinally, so in my case, there is room for paperwork, the precision air gauge I carry, and cargo netting that I find comes in handy just often enough to want to keep a set on board.
