As long as you don't change the bulb to a higher wattage than oem you should be ok. I thought I had that issue but it was my starter.

Yes led should lower the load.

l have put led headlights on my R3 and all is well....

If your intent is purely to save the ignition switch, then a member here makes a wiring harness to remove the strain. @DEcosse is this guru and hopefully he will be along shortly to explain better. Financially this option is probably much better, BUT if you want a led headlight... That's a plausible reason for it.

I wouldn't worry too much about key-switch failure in a Touring with std bulb
But sure, an LED lamp will reduce the load by couple of amps.

I have the Datatool alarm system which gives me the option of hazard flashers from the key fob
