Hi, Owned a 1600cc marauder for years. Looks like the Tbird..see pic.. Nice bike but the lower seating position made the machine less than stable. It was work to keep it upright at corners with the passenger on. Fell over once during a tight, slow turn. When the passenger gets on, the higher weight acts like a pendulum adding to the instability. Would not buy another machine with the seat so low and the passenger that much higher.
I can not give you that answer. My kid at that age would not be here. Some how they think they are bullet proof or have some kind of medal of honor healing potion. I could live with him being alive and pissed at me. Not sure if he ended up in the ground.
Exactly.
And that really isn’t a fair question. I know him better than anybody...and I’m not sure. Honestly I think he will handle the weight of the bike. The power and the youth is what worries me.
Give him a set of wings and go fly with him. Show him your riding style and converse about why you ride the way you do. If he has ridding buddies, hang out with them. The brotherhood of bikers reaches all who motorbike. Those moments will be stamped on both of your memories for life. Don't wait another day.
The bike came home with us yesterday evening.
Parking lot stop and goes & turning drills until dark, polished on it until he talked me into taking the rocket out for a short 2 bike ride in the country at 3 am.
I think he’s back out there polishing on it now.
Happy Birthday Will!

He is following this thread, says he wants to go on the ride in October and meet the that guy who is flying all the way from England to do a ride...GRIN

Go to 2019 RAA West thread. Oklahoma's own Mexican and Sonny are scheduled to show. Try to make the June RAA East in Maggie Valley. Many Living Legends will be there. There are rallies but, this is a gathering. Bunch of fast old bikers. Jim might bring Josh along all the way from the California coast, again. There will be bikers from the four corners of our USA. Don't miss it.

Nice bike. Ride with him lots and good coaching will set in. It's tough when we have to let go a little bit more and alow our progeny to take greater responsibility. NIce bike and congrats on a most perfect riding partner. I hope you two have many miles of smiles together. You should make him write up the trip reports, after all he is still an apprentice
Why follow get him on the net as a member. With weather and work figure I'll be ready for the dyno around the First of May. Will call you and let you know exact date when set Mad Dog. Looking forward to meeting both of you in person. Rain stopped and the sky lighten up but now it is getting dark again. Sucks. Maggie Valley is something to consider.
