Online Shopping versus Local Dealer Purchases

Dennis Kirk has Metzler 880 XXLs for 208.99 out-the-door ($203.99+$5.00). I'd rather have given my $$$ to the local dealer, but his price wasn't even close ($300 + tax). Any thoughts on shopping online catalogs versus making purchases from the local dealers? I probably would have given the local shop $250 for the tire.

Most generally I shop online........ you can always find it alot cheaper and usually get free shipping if the price is large enough. Like you I will support my dealer if he is within reason. Looks to me like yours is not with in reason. My dealer quoted me $220 for the rear tire.
