Revised POST thanks to TrackereJack:
****************************

With my current 20054 tune, none of the "factory" PC3's download tunes will work 100%, but here's why. PC's tunes are based off of a stock tune 20050 empty U.S. cat box, stock muffs & airfilter. So unless you have the 20050 tune, none of the Powercommando's tunes will match (they would not exactly match anyway).

I have learned that all those PC3 download maps were from a bike with a base tune (empty cat box, factory mufflers) and worked the added fuel in per mod from there. Accordingly, if you have the 20054 tune and bolt on the Jardines and the PC3 Jardine map, my guess is you will be pretty rich unless you dyno tune it...from what I have been led to believe.

With the three K&N mod and Jardines, if the PC3 fails (they sometimes do), I want to be able to unplug it on the side of the road and rely on the hardwired richest Triumph "stock" 20054 tune w/o running dangerously lean to limp home.

If someone knows more than me here (not a hard task) please inform me...

Bonjour Miami,

Take care you are making a big mistake I think.
The 20056 tune is not the good one for your setup but the 20054.
Without catalyst and with cat box removed is not the same.
You have a cat box removed set up.
You have to check that point to be sure

TJ,

I will be adding the Jardines this weekend, so in effect I will have no catalyst and aftermarket pipes (even though now I have factory pipes and no cat box).

With the Jardines and triple K&N's (coming) it should still be a little lean, which I will dyno tune out above from the '56... right?

Oh crap you are right!! I'm an idiot!!

Mechanic confirmed it was the '54 tune, so I have been running quite a bit rich since to begin with since I have factory mufflers...

Steverino, I am getting it dyno tuned. However, I am also looking to put a few hours on it so it is not learning on the dyno. Like a lot of "smart" EFI systems they can learn and unlearn some things.

My intentions are to disconnect the battery, bolt on big mods Jards/3K's, reconnect download the PC3 Jardine tune, reconnect the terminals, 12 minute tune, and ride it for quite a few hours to help teach the CPU a few things-so it's not trying to relearn stuff during the dyno run during part thottle stuff (I don't think it learns above 3K and or WOT above that-I think that is hardlearned CPU stuff).

I beleive I will be slightly rich, and hoping that slightly b/c of 20054+ rich PC3 Jardine map (based off 20050 map) will clean itself up with the triple K&N's making it at least run OK for a few hours. Than the dyno tune...

I don't have a PC3 on my Rocket but I do on the FJR and have for about 2 years I found that using the Power Commander site for base maps and occassionally user proven maps the best source - here is the link http://www.powercommander.com/510-411.shtml

a thing to watch out for Certainly on the FJR is that there is a difference in the tune for a USA standard Bike and A USA standard bike set up - something to do with your laws (baffles me lol)
