Hi all, i have the cable from lonlec for a while now but haven't tried it. The bikes been hesitating off of idle lately so i think it's time to get to know Tune ecu and use my new cable. Eventually I want to download tripps derestricting tune into my R3T but for now I step in slowly as I learn the system. The idle on my bike has been getting slower and slower over time but would still idle steady and ive been holding the throttle open a little at stop lights to keep the idle at about 1000 rpms. Latley, I've its heasitated sometimes when taking off so i think the tps and/or stepper motor are off. So I am thinking I need to checklist is;
tps
stepper motor
sync throttle bodies
also raise idle and turn fan temp down while in there.

I'm thinking this is a good place to start learning the system before I get into downloading anything. Can you guys think of anything I've missed.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts, Ridefree.

You could start with plugging it in and seeing if you have any error codes.

As step 2, you could consider resetting the adaptations the ECU has made, and then doing a 12 (or 15) minute "tune". Ie, turn the bike off, then back on and start it and touch nothing except the key and the start button to do so. Then let it idle for 15 minutes.

Never a bad idea, I'd say, true. It should be the stock map you can download from TuneECU.com, so you don't strictly speaking have to. But, being a computer nerd, that's what I did with mine, just in case.

Do the ISCV Reset and it will tell you that you simply need to adjust the TPS, I suspect will be a a tad out which will give you a low idle if you are going to adjust the idle in TuneECU first the the above then use the reset the adaptive so and you will not need to do the 12 minute tune, when I tweak tune I always set the idle in the last two sections at 950, this will give you a smoother acceleration of a closed throttle and reduce any decel poping

Ok, so reset adaption is the last thing I do?
At this point I have downloaded tuneecu into its own file in my library and then downloaded the cdm.ftdi drivers into the same folder as the tune ecu. Did I do that correctly?
I'm on my way right now to go pick up a new trickle charger as mine bit the dust last week. Well be hooking up the bike in a little bit

so, in reading the instructions from the tune ecu website and understand them correctly, I am to disable my internet after downloading the ftdi drivers so that when I plug in my lonlec cable it won't automatically try to install drivers from the internet. then the new hardware wizard is supposed to pop up where i would direct it to the drivers i downloaded from tune ecu and put in my tune ecu file. Problem is that when I plug in the cable a little window pops up and tells me i have no drivers for it. there is no wizard popping up for me to direct with. If i enable the internet then it acts as usual and goes to the internet to find one. tune ecu says these latest drivers may not be compatible

ok so I tried hooking up to the bike and wont connect. I tried letting the internet find the drivers but that didnt work either. going to uninstal everything and start from scratch

FWIW, I could not, no way José, get TuneECU to work on my laptop.

Resorted to purchasing the Android version, and am expecting any day the adapter for the Lonetech cable to the phone and then we can both try it for the first time.

Others have had better luck with the free version, and I hope you get to work.
