oil presure light flickers

Change kit?

I WONDER IF HE is talking about a kit to change it to a analog gauge.
all that i was talking about is to put a temporary gauge on it to read pressure at cranking speed and engine idle speed. a lot of oil sending units close the contacts at about 10 lbs pressure you could check the switch by using a little air pressure and a fuel pump tester and an ohm meter.

I want to do that but I was thinking I would like to have a guage permanently as well. Gauges aren't hard to find. It seems the fitting to the head is hard to find

ok so it looks like the sending unit goes in with a crush water which means it's not a pipe thread but instead a straight thread so banjo fitting it in order. I haven't taken anything apart yet to measure it because I'm writing it to work. I would like to have the parts in before I take anything apart. does anybody know if that's a 10 millimeter or a 12 millimeter thread on the sending unit
thanks in advance

just for a little test i open the throttle about 2/3 and cranked it a little and the oil light went out when the engine cranked over about 4 times.
so my opinion is that you either have an oil pressure problem or a sending unit problem.

Did you disconnect the coils so it wouldn't start right away. I would like to try this test. Interesting to know the your engine developed enough oil pressure at cranking speed ( not even running) to turn off the oil light. Thanks for that info, that's tells me something, I'll try it on mine

After I thought about it I should be able to disable the fuel pump by pulling the relay then I can give it that test

i just put it at 2/3 throttle and it didn't start
