Anyone out there have a good solution for a replacement for the oil pressure sensor boot on the top rear face of the engine? Mine is pretty well cracked to pieces and I cannot seem to find a workable solution.
I'm OCD so that will be tough. Started into my tear down today and saw the boot was shot. I went to the dealer on the last tear down a few years ago to see if they had the part. They do....it's over $700....gotta buy the whole wire harness for the SOB. Guess I'll leave it off and just wait for the nervous ticks to start. Removed cooling system, exhaust system, intake system, fuel tank, foot rests and crash bars, and opened the front cover again and removed the clutch and oil pump. Tomorrow it will be the rear wheel and swing arm and a couple of bits and pieces and the frame will be close to coming off. It's all good so far. More later. One more thing, on the cooling system,,wanting to replace the the two rubber hoses that connect to the water pump. The diameter of the pump side is larger than the dia of the metal pipe crossing the front cover. Is this section of hose standard rubber hose or is it a special OEM hose with two different ID's on each end?
