A little while ago I went to the Purolator website and on the powersports page at the bottom they say for motorcycles they "highly" recommend using their ML series instead of the PureOne filter because the mc oil pumps might not be able to withstand the pressure the PureOne creates. Any oil pump problems?
No problems what so ever I cannot tell you if it is a Pure one as it does not state it on the box. I switched mainly because of the synthetic filter media and there claim it has a99% trapping efficiency. Its a 10,000 mile filter but I change mine every 5000 miles whether it needs it or not. I have to much money into this motor to loose something because I am to cheap to change the oil. That and to be honest I beat the living crap out of the motor so I figure my oil break down rate might be higher then the guys wiht low horse power and a tamed wrist

Yes I have used the PL14610 before then I found the synthetic one and switched. To be honest s lng as I have been following the forums I have never heard of anyone losing a oil pump.
I checked the specs online for the Purolator One filter (PL14612) and it says that the height is 2.93 inches. The chrome cover on the bike only measures approx 2.75 inches leading me to believe that the Purolator filter can not be used with the chrome cover. From someone who has actually used this filter, can you confirm whether the chrome cover will fit?
An alternative to the PureOne filter is the Mobil 1 filter. Like the PureOne, it also filters 99.9% on the ISO4548 test, but unlike the PureOne it is specifically recommended for the Rocket. It is available in chrome (which is nice because it is the same length as the PureOne, which is not available in chrome). Autozone sells it.

Just incase I am not understanding you right. If the filter your talking about is already chromed I would not worry about that you need to use the Triumph chrome shield to protect the oil filter from rocks and debris. One hole in it and you will either be walking or destroy the motor if you don't catch it. The chrome shield is one of the most important things. Even if your running the nice belly cowl you can buy for the rocket.
The Mobil MC Filter webpage states its filters are available in chrome but after searching for the one that fits my Rocket (M1MC-134) I cannot find it anywhere in chrome, only black. Looks like the stock cover will be necessary for the chrome look.

Wow I would think it would have a color no matter what color it is. Maybe some of the other Roadster owners here can chime in on wether theirs has a cover or not?
