Loopy,
I must ask, how do you know this?
I have been told that the RamAir is good up to 200 whp, or so. After that you're going to need more air.
I'd like to know exactly what were your problems with the two forty and RamAir?
Steve, remember last trip in Arkansas? remember i mentioned that the bike would act weird and not idle steady at start up? it would die sometimes after starting for 3 seconds and shaking, idling very rough for the first 10 seconds and eventually stabilizing slowly, i looked everywhere and even started a thread about it.
After checking everything with no luck, i remembered that the only thing i did to the bike was changing the 4040s with the ram air, i reversed it and put the 4040s back and problem solved, as smooth as ever.
No ram air for my Roadster. There's a fella on YT that has a red striped '14 Roadster with the Carp 240 package. He has the bear claw installed, but it's not modified, so you can't see what's under it. I asked what filters he has installed, he said velocity stacks. His bike is pretty insane and he unleashes all 230something ponies when he rides it. So, velocity stacks will be something I'll look at.

Not if you’re retired and skint!! Oh that’s me!
As long as you’re satisfied with the value for money, that’s all that counts mate.
Mine goes on the Dyno this Friday as I’ve fitted a Dave Platt exhaust and a K+N filter on the induction trunking. Just to smooth out the throttle, loose the Cat, Lamba sensor and the restriction on the gears. That going to cost around £450 (@$700US), so cheap compared to the work you’ve had done.
So what tyres are you guys running with these big power engines?
