Ey up... can someone tell me how to remove the bulb from the number plate light? Does it come out from the back I cant really tell and don't want to break anything... the manual isn't much use either... standard rocket 3 classic

Yep, from the back
 
Put your hand between the tyre and the mudguard, give the light a twist, and pull it out.
