Night riding dangers

I used to love riding at night. It was about the only time to enjoy the hot Texas summers. I have had a few deer close calls. Ran over many coyotes and raccoons and a few armadillos. But I think my night vision is about gone now, especially the glare from any lights oncoming traffic I usually have to look away or close my eyes.

I can't imagine hitting a freaking bear. I'm done riding at night.


SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (WVNS)– The Summers County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the identity of the two people killed in an accident on I-64 the night of Saturday, June, 10.
The Sheriff confirms Roger Bartusiak, 56, and Melissa Stanley Bartusiak, 54, a married couple from Beckley, were tragically killed in the accident.
The couple was thrown off the bike after their motorcycle collided with a black bear on the road.

And if you have seen from the rear, the rear light from the rocket is too small... consider to increase visibility

agreed, riding after sun down is too risky...doesn't matter how bright your headlights are, night is when the critters become active.

I do not ride at night. Our country roads are full of critters and I just can’t enjoy views or spirited riding. I do like daybreak rides in the summer but deer are a concern. Riding is great till a crash.
