Next Rocket model

No I haven't and won't buy one without a test ride. I've never ridden a bike with a sidecar and I am sure power will be low with only a 750 twin and all that extra weight. But I won't be looking for speed with this bike, looking for something I can ride on snow days and carry lots of camping gear.

I know those things have snorkels on them but that's still nuts. I've got a friend at work who has a passing interest in a motorcycle with a side car so I sent him those videos. His interest is no longer simply 'passing'.
 
It's hard enough to find a good Triumph mechanic I wonder how hard it would be to find a good aural mechanic. I mean service technician/ parts changer. Good Mechanic are real hard to find.
 
The dragstrip times you quote for a Vincent were not stock Vincent times.

Its true that a BSA Lightning was faster but it wasn't sold as a street bike and didn't come with lights. The SUPER ROCKET was their fastest street bike and it was NOT as quick as the Bonnie. Also I am talking about the year 1960 not the sixties which is the whole decade. STOCK VINCENTS were not that fast in acceleration but were good at top speed. They had a clunky gearbox and were geared high. I owned and rode two stock ones not ones modified for drag racing.

YES my lightning came with lights and I owned a 1963 GOLD STAR TWIN that was faster than my both my Triumphs and the VINCENT BLACK SHADOWS were much faster than my BONNEVILLES I also had a 1961 HD XLCH SPORSTER that was faster than the TRIUMPHS THE VINCENTS were 1000cc a 1952 BLACK SHADOW and a 1955 BLACK SHADOW the factory had lots of boltons available that gave them even more HP and you had to know how to adjust the clutch how to shift them WE rode and raced all these bikes in the sixties AND the times I turned on my VINCENT was with genuine factory VINCENT parts that were available to all SORRY to burst you bubble but my TRIUMPHS werent as fast as my other bikes we did have some hot Triumphs around that were built by SONNY ROUTT who produced big bore kits and everything else you could think of for TRIUMPHS
 
You didn't burst my bubble because the fact is the Bonnie I owned in 1960 that I bought when it was new in 1959 was faster than either of my Vincents. It was also faster than a BSA Super Rocket in 1960. In 1960 BSA lightnings were dirt bikes and didn't have lights. In 1960 there was no such thing as a Gold Star Twin. Gold Stars were 500 singles when I rode one.By the way 1000cc aint a big deal, its 61 cu inches and even Harleys had 74 cu inches since 1936. Try to keep in your limited memory that I am talking about stock bikes. I didn't have any modified bikes with Sonny Routt stuff or anything else. I was just lucky to have the bikes. I think Vincents are overrated and if it wasn't for a guy in a bathing suit going 150 mph on the salt flats nobody would remember them.
