New RIII Classic owner

Hello from South East WA state. I just picked up this 2007 Rocket III Classic w/ 12k on the clock.

I joined the forum to learn about this model and modifications. I'm thinking an exhaust (Carpenter looks good), Air filter system (Ramair), and TuneECU.

I have been using the search function, but if anyone wants to chime in with advice, please do so.

Are there any sticky posts to bring me up to speed without searching forever?

Excellent bike sir,

The carpenter pipe comes in two styles; the sidewinder and the drag pipe. Both of which are absurdly loud, if that’s what you’re after then get one. I think they sound incredible.

Good intake, tune, and pipe and you’ll be happy for now. You can go down a wild rabbit hole when modifying these rockets.

I got the Sidewinder exhaust and sent it to Jet Hot Coatings for the polished treatment. Also ordered a Ramair kit.

Now I just need information on TuneECU. How do I determine which tune is right for these mods? I see a 240HP version, but I don't have any engine mods.

Do I get a cable or bluetooth dongle?

Is the flash done using laptop or phone?

As far as I know:
You will need to get a cable. I use a laptop, but the PC version of the software is not supported any more. I have the android version on a Galaxy tablet, but I prefer my laptop as it still works and is easier to see on the bigger screen.
I don't know much about which map you will need for your set up. I'll bet @Idaho Red Rocket 3 could help you with that.
Not much help, but a start....
