New R3T for me !!!

I managed to get myself an 08 R3T for a fair deal price. This bike simply rocks. I put 100 miles on her today and will get another 300 tomorrow.
The ride is rock soild, smooth, and impressed me greatly.

I will need to get something to pull pack the bars. The seat is not too supportive either. But I expected that. More money I have to spend.

I already have a technical question.
The front turn signals are not 'on' until I engage the turn switch. I haven't seen any bike that didn't use the front turn signals as running lights - meaning they're on all the time. Is this normal ?
 
Interesting that you ask the same question on multiple forums. The answer remains the same, they're turn signals not running lights. Just like BMW's and other proper motorcycles.

I believe there are products that will allow you to convert them to running lights. A better option would be to purchase the Accessory Lights. Much larger and more conspicuous.
 
Enjoy that new R3T. I'm afraid that GPMAZ is right, I've got the foglights on my 07 Classic that can be used as running lights, on the R3T you'll probably have to end up getting that light bar and "foglight" set.

As for the seat, depending on how much you weigh, I'd hold off for a couple of months just to let that seat break in. If it's still uncomfortable, then it may be a good move to get another type seat, any replacement seat (another Triumph one, Russell Daylong, or others) will be a good chunk of change...but if you gotta do it, you gotta do it.

Okay I posted the same thing on 3 different forums. I get it.

The seat is good for now. The bars on the other hand do need to come back a few inches. Only because I've got back / neck problems. I heard Rivco are working on a set of risers for the R3T.
 
I have a set of the Rivco risers on order. They're due to be released mid to late February. They were running a discount for the first group of orders. You might try contacting them to see if you can still get in on the deal.
 
light bar and lights

great choice
i went for the bar and extra lamps but have had a flat battery twice recently
dont know if extra lamps are responsible more likely winter weather and no long journeys i have now invested in a charger

seat & bars


i agree give the seat time to break in.one option is the factory seat w/driver backrest
i ended getting to help my bad back on long rides.it has made the difference of
doing a 80-100 mile day to 150-200 mile day with less pain.
one warning though,these bikes have a very stiff suspension untill broken in.
one wrong bump and the back rest will slap you in the lower back hard.
if you a see serious bump coming pull forward off the rest.
it'll save your back.
I also went with aftermarket handle bars . wich have a wider bottom and
come back an extra 3-4".much more comfortable ride

I think the suspension is far better than the one on my old VTX. I got to feel many bumps today that would have snapped my neck on my VTX. World of difference.
The bars you have, are they for the Classic or the Touring ? I need something that comes back 3-4 inches. I will check with Rivco again.
 
Risers/pullback

Current Rivco doesnt fit the Touring, I fitted Highway hawk with about an inch pullback aabout 1and 3/4 inch extra height which also causes increased pullback owing to rake. Requires clutch cable about 2/3inches longer than factory which u must get made up.
Works perfectly!
