So after doing lots, and I mean lots of research, I can't find a decent price exhaust system, so I thought to myself, why not build my fuc$ken own, here goes, all 2" pipe, made my own collector, heat wrapped it all, used 18" hotdogs, black heat proof paint, stock clamps for right now but they will be updated to T clamps, here are some photos of the process and end result, still need to put my pod filter on, retune ecu, and overflow bottle. There is a video of the noise, but it's too big, I'll try to get a smaller version uploaded.

I'm not sure what "research" you did but there are systems very cheap out there that look better. Sorry.
Clearly you can weld, so I'm curious why you did not go with some decent slip-ons.
Did you see my cobra setup? Overall cost was like $350 all in, it does not get cheaper than that and not look like a dead cat rapped around a soon to rust out AutoZone special glass pack.
But good for you if you like it and it's all you had $ for and keeps you riding.
There is a seller here who has a nice set of TORS and a car delete for a ok price

Yeh I looked at few different options, very expensive for what they are, and the wait time for them to be made was ridiculous, went this route for price, cheap hotdogs was more a test to see, plus I needed to ride, no I haven't seen your cobra setup, do you have a link for the cans, I'd like to upgrade those, it was all a test to see if I could do it and yep cost me frig all, cross over pipe was painted with 1500 degree heatproof, rust proof paint then wrapped in heat shield. If it does rust will take a long time, but thank you for your 2 cents worth. ..

2 things. and im speaking out of experience and ill upload some pictures. NEVER EVER wrap aluminized steel or ANY steel pipes EVER. they WILL rust out VERY fast.
Here are a few pictures of what i did exactly like you did and the aftermath just 9 months later. this was on my VW TDI 340HP build.
Here is the aftermath
from this

TO THIS in 9 months of driving, that BTW is VHT's exhaust paint and a HIGH quality wrap. 2 layers
and for the LIFE OF ME for the last 30 minutes i can NOT find the pictures i took but i found a screenshot of when i took the engine out
see whats left of that rusted out POS?????? yea

Here is the rocket
Slip on exhaust anyone can do (How i fixed up my rashed out stock pipes)

if you had done a search here for exhaust you would have found it fairly quickly. there are many others.
here is a link to the cobra pipe lower DB... they are amazing, NOT quiet but not dumb loud. right where you want it to be right on the edge of becoming too loud but only when you give the beans

Yeah these exhaust clamps are ****, but it's all I could get for now, like I said this is a test set, to even see if I could do it, lol, cans will be up graded, I'll be using T clamps on the joins though, the cross over looks fine with out the wrap, but I was doing it for the extra heat protection for the abd and tyer.

$45 for ceramic coating if you sand it all down and prep, $65 otherwise with a media blasting and solvent cleaning. . i did later down the road do an exhaust in galvanized pipe with a wrap but i used the silicone base version that you literally soak in silicone mix then apply. 4 years i had it and it seems good but never got into the wrap to find out if it held up. IMO its fine for stainless and over ceramic coated. Just my experience.
PS do not let me discourage you, i'm a bit rough around the edges but i have good intentions. IMO a rocket is bad ass enough to do whatever you want to it and still be cool.

All good mate, so I might make a new one out of stainless, or maybe send this one in for ceramic coating, either way.

I went for a quick ride and installed a new tune to suit the air cleaner upgrade, exhaust, and what not, holy **** balls what a difference it made, such a nice not when riding, honestly I hear more from the throttle bodies, lmao
Did run a little ****ty with the tune I used, so I've downloaded another from this site to try, at least until I can dyno tune it, but before I do that I'd like a nice set of headers, not in my reality to build them my self though, lol
