New Exhaust

I prefer the chrome look. Hey Paul.....will they always turn color?

As Smitty said, the bike was running with (I assume) the stock tune, which as we know is lean to start with, then even leaner with a free flow Exhaust system.
And, Next step is a proper dyno tune by Nels so I can actually ride this thing.

I was running Penner's stock tune; not sure how lean that is versus factory stock. I also have a RamAir installed. Either way I think the color adds flavor.

For sure best looking header/exhaust combo for the rocket but holy hell your bike must of been breathing fire if it turned those pipes blue in 30 seconds. I've had several bikes that had same characteristic with the headers but that hapenned after years of abuse. Personally I also like the look of the blued pipes but I don't think I'd be riding it much before getting proper tune.

My PB chrome header turned blue during the 12 min tune, I believe the idle is at it was from the factory, not sure if changing tunes has an effect on the idle tune.

Yeah I imagine that the tune had little to do with it since mine wasn't running for long, and then only at idle. I'm still in love with the new system, though I haven't ridden it yet. I have a dyno appointment on Saturday morning, after which I'll probably love it even more.

what do you have for an air filter? I'm using a Ram Air.
Do you also have a PCV or are you tuning directly to the ECU?
I have yet to do a dyno tune, winter came here early, in Maine.

I have a RamAir already installed but no PCV. I've got an appointment with Nels at 2WheelDynoWorks. He's willing and able to tune directly with TuneECU.
