My R3T ate its rear brake pads

Was your rear brake disc blued at all? Not putting blame on riding the brakes or faulty calipers. But what ever the problem if the calipers are blued then they were engaged for some reason.

I changed my pads on my R3T several times and one time I only got 1000 miles out of them...I couldn't believe it! After checking the packaging, they were organic pads and not sintered...About the same price but no where near the mileage!

Fitted the New Pads ,all ok ,did a nice ride today and finished off on the freeway ,purposely did not use the rear brake when I stopped in the garage I felt the rear disc,it was warm ,as is the hub from the diff temperature ,I had a look at the two pistons the seem to be fairly well out of the calliper ,but the brake is not binding ,I will check the brake pedal rod that actuates the master cylinder Tomorrow to see if it is in need of adjustment.

Ken, all that rod does is change the height of the brake pedal.

Ok thanks for that I hadn't checked ,saves me a job ,I will just bleed the fluid through the rear brake tomorrow to see if the pistons retract a bit.
