Metal Overflow bottles to replace ugly plastic crap.

Tell me about this device. Do you compress it and lock it back, or is it the type that you have to push it against a window until it cocks and then automatically fires off?
It's primary use is to indent metal to start a drill bit and keep it from walking around the part being drilled. The neat thing about it is that when you use it on glass, it silently shatters it. The only sound is from the glass breaking and there is no swinging of an object hard enough to make a noise to break it.
It comes in a few configurations and materials depending who makes it. The one I have is a brass body with a hardened steel punch tip that is chromed. They don't cost much and are easily found at any hardware store. It's a recommended tool to keep in your car to break a window should you drive your car into the water. They are spring loaded but don't "cock", you press it against a surface and the punch retracts into the handle against a spring. When you reach the end of the spring, it clicks and either leaves a dent in steel or shatters glass with little effort.

I've only had to use the punch twice, but have caved in several car doors with my boot. One time some ***** forced me out of my lane and when I tapped on her glass to let her know I was there, she flipped me off and kept on coming. I flipped my lit smoke through her window (lucky shot) and it landed on her lap. She had to stop in the middle of a major intersection to look for the butt. That one was my favorite.

Well, I'm not so much inclined to go "hand to hand" with a car while on my bike; but I certainly feel your attitude at times regarding it. Most of the time when I'm wearing my full face, they (the car drivers) can't see my face or even understand what I'm yelling at then for.

I do like the subtle shattering of glass though, I need to see if Lowe's has those today and maybe later; walk around the parking lot at work and try it out.

The parking lot thing might be a joke, but that's exactly what smash and grab thieves use to do break in's.

weapon...s.....

This is killer...great for grins I suppose. Love the story about the lit cig in the broad's lap!!! Must pick up one of these for the West Side when circumstances place me there in dire need for diversion!!!

tdragger...I like your application. Any thing I should be aware of when I yank the stock plastic crap? Where did you strap yer unit to??? Think I'll do the Weapon-R.

1055 hrs., MST: Just ordered the Weapon-R, 24 oz unit for 65 bucks (55 plus 10 for shipping). Should be fun bling to install next week or the week after...and the weather may be improving by then! Next up: some Carbon Fiber stuff from my neighbor in Aurora. Late Summer will hopefully see Nitrous augmentation (can't outlay enough bucks for the BLOWER just yet). NOS is around a grand or a buckfifty for a nice chromed unit to match the Wpn-r catch bottle look EVENTUALLY I'll get a new tank or bodywork this one. Bling and power comes first.

Hellfire: that spring loaded center punch that has now got my attention...you think Harbor Freight might carry these babies???

The Weapon-R bottle is attached to the wire mesh on the backside of the rad. You remove the bracket from the back of the bottle and then use a pair of oversize washers to hold it in place on the mesh.

Here's the sequence that I used:

Remove the bearclaw.

With a 32 oz plastic cup nearby, remove the hose from the rad neck and drain the fluid into the cup. Dispose of properly so no critters can get into it (they are drawn to antifreeze like flies to cowpatties).

Remove the stock reservoir and remove the overflow hose.

Remove the rad shrouds and then the mesh.

Test position the bottle until it doesn't interfere with the clutch cable. Fix to the mesh.

Attach the hose that comes with the Weapon-R bottle to the lower end of the bottle before you re-attach the mesh to the rad.

Holding the mesh and bottle to the correct position on the rad, position, cut and attach the upper end of the hose to the rad filler neck.

While holding the bottle higher than the filler neck, add coolant to the bottle until the new hose it full and approximately 1/4 of the bottle is filled.

Lower the mesh and bottle into position and attach to the rad.

Reinstall the rad shrouds.

Give it a test run and watch for fluid movement in the hose.

THANKS MAN!!! I'll do exactly as you stated when the unit arrives. I like your set up. Appreciate the heads-up!

I don't know why they wouldn't, probably got one of mine from there at one time. I'm in there all the time just to look around... I love that store.
