hi
forget turbos/superchargers (unless you want to go quick in a straight line )
get in touch with maxton suspension specialists and have a pair of twin shocks made to suit your weight and riding style its the best mod i have done to my rocket so far fast A roads are A BLAST the shocks suit the rocket well with black springs and machined alloy body, they are
adjustable for pre load /damping ,all you have to do is set the static sag and off you go .
also there is an increase in ground clearence,
i know we are supposed to riding a cruiser?but i don,t think i have ever cruised on it ,
i have just sold my mv agusta 1000 fantastic bike but i smile a lot more on my rocket
Do you work for them ?
only joking ... was looking on their site the other day, spoke to the rep at the nec bike show, he said there were some in the pipeline, what are the costings and which length did you go for as you say it increased the ride height, has it quickened the steering at all.
any chance of a pic ?
cheers
desmo
hi
the shocks were not that expensive around the £400.00 mark
when i say made to order its probably just choosing the correct weight spring and damping internals .
the increase in ground clearence comes from less sag than the originals .mine is set at about 15mm (the shock centres are the same)
the steering is improved and turns a lot easier/quicker
no i do not work for them
i will put photo in my photo album still trying to work out how to put one with message
I think new shocks has been one of the most popular mods on the rocket .
Makes a huge difference .
Used Maxton for suspension on my last bike , very good .
Just prefered the look of Wilbers , but the the Wilbers are almost twice the price
