Looking for help in finding a well engineered cat by pass kit that will not cost me an arm and a foot. I can not imagine what cost so much to bend a couple of tubes. Haveing it made in the states a plus , I hate to wait !

Cat by-pass arrived today....anything to be aware of in dropping the box and bolting on the by-pass?

saved a couple of bucks buying online from Hermy's....$315 and $8 shipping versus $350 from the dealer and 7% tax.

Make sure you got a pray to derust/loosen the bolts, they tent to be burned very tight.

You may need to unscrew and pull on the cat bold to uscrew at the same time
It sticks in the rubber ones loose from the nut.

Loosening up the flange-bolds (headers) in the engine is necessary, no need to remove headers or the header-covers.

Be patient 1 1/2 hour work in a well equipped workshop.
Expect some more time doing it on the garage floor

Good luck

Vic

I did not loosen headers or disconnect battery just watch what you are doing, garage floor less than 1 hour start to finish, dead simple job.

ok, thanks, will be doing it tomorrow...next question....I checked with the dealer that put on the TORs as to the tune...they said they put in the "off road" map and it should work with the by-pass and K&N....if throttle responce isn't good or alot of popping to bring it in and they would try another.....any opinions?

then there is the power commander

Didn't disconnect battery and there was no need to loosen headers.
Easy job. Cut out the rubber grommets from the cat box and refitted them into the bypass for a snugger fit.

Dropped in an underseat K&N.

You can hear it now! Much Mo Betta. Have to put some miles on it to evaluate popping on decel.
