So my wife and I are doing 2 week trip through Idaho, Washington, Oregon, then back up to Victoria and at our first stop I noticed some bad wear on my Exedra. We rode into Bonners Ferry and decided we needed a new rear tire right away. Of course, nobody has one anywhere nearby or en route that will fit the beast so we decide to ride to Kennewick where we had a room booked.
By the time we got to Kennewick, the cords were showing so we knew we were not going anywhere. We had a local shop (Ridenow Powersports) order a new Exedra, overnight from Portland, and paid the piper to get the ball rolling. We had accepted that we would be here for an extra day or two and decided to rent a car to explore the city. We came across a little shop called Full Throttle that was having a going out of business sale. We went in just to look around. We were not looking for a tire but just thought we would kill some time, see what they were selling, etc.
The owner and his wife (Bill and Heidi) were really nice people and when they asked what we rode she got all excited and says, "Come with me." She takes us to the back where they had an 09 touring converted to a trike after an accident where Bill had lost his leg. I'm not a trike guy but this one was really nice! Mind you, I am a bit biased.
Anyhow, we chatted for a little while and on the way out I spot tires on a rack and think, "I wonder...?" Sure enough, there's a brand new Metzler ready to go. A good find for sure, so I bought it and took it to the shop. We're back on the road and leaving for Newport tomorrow.
