...Hunty has a loose rhs mirror (triumph teardrop on solid stem). Mirror folds in at 80km/h+.....I have tried ignoring it but that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem. Any advice fellas?

To be clear...the mirror is moving on the stem not the stem moving on the handlebars.

Yes my friend Mike the Millionaire had the same problem with his Left mirror. He took them back and got his money back.

He put the Mickey Mouse Ear original mirrors back on. Funny thing with the MME mirrors is, they swivel at the stem in the handlebar mount.

yeah not going back to those butt-ugly things....currently looking for a can of spray-on rust to squirt in the ball joint...

Tighten it

I tried to quote and respond to this but it all went pear-shaped with the smilies and stuff so i deleted it...instead I will just state here: Smart arse lol

Set it correctly and apply loctite.

The only issue I have with that is when I load the big girl up with luggage and a pillion I often adjust the mirror...could account for why its so loose now??

YUP - most mirror heads use a simple ball and friction plate. They wear. If you cant adjust for wear - well you're screwed.

Some have little screws that allow you to torque down the friction plate. ime - the fancier the mirror the less likely it is they allow "fixing".

There is anther "fix" but it can look ugly - I sit on the Function over Form side of the fence so it's not a biggy for me.
Find something like REPAIR TAPE Or non vulcanised rubber and add support to the swivel. I don't know the details of the mirror - but sometimes a BIT FAT O-Ring works.
This resists vibration/movement - - But YOU can make it move. I've used this system on odd nuts where Nyloc etc is not available

Are these what you have? http://www.triumphmotorcycles.co.uk...780A66F}&selectedBikeName=Rocket-III-Roadster

Should be covered by warranty - applies to Triumph accessories too. Go to your nearest dealer and ask for a new set.

yep that's them
