2015 Triumph Rocket 3 Touring
Hey everybody. Been riding my new Rocket for about a week and this is by far the coolest bike I've ever owned, but the exhaust feels a little quiet for me. My prior bike was a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 with a stock exhaust that was hollowed out by VTXExhaust in Alberta MN. They do excellent quality work, have affordable rates, and for years I loved the way my Vulcan sounded but unfortunately they are unable to hollow my exhaust because the chrome heat shield is not removable. I would like to keep the dual look if possible and the D&D exhaust out of Texas looks very nice but I don't know what it sounds like so I'm unsure if this is what I'm after.
There are also a few videos on youtube that show you how to manually remove the glass packing from Ultraglide exhausts which also seem to have a closed heat shield as well but this is uncharted territory for me. They appear to cut the heat shield from the back of the exhaust and then pull out the fiberglass.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

D&D pipes arnt made any more but you may find a set, “Rocket touring d&d no baffles“ on you tube a sound clip, that is with a crossover pipe not the stock crossover, but an idea, there more videos with d&d pipes on a rocket. What are your goals with the pipes, just sound, performance? Theyre are a couple options we have, as we have a couple of the best exhaust manufacturers in the world on this site depending on what you wont as a finished product. Check out viking exhaust and lms performance exhaust they make exhaust systems to order. @Paul Bryant and @ozrider make outstanding quality systems, crossovers, headers, check with them as they can help. Good luck

I wasn't aware D&D didn't make them anymore. The website was still up. I will give the other sites a look. Thanks

Lot of guys have removed the baffles on here, hit the magnifying glass and use keywords and enjoy the info you will glean.

I have ran the Triumph TORs for 74K miles and enjoy the sound over the OEM cans. Plus, the CATs are in the OEM cans so less weight and restriction with TORs so a tad more power, will need a new tune though.
