LED taillight project. Can the taillight be opened?

I just finished cutting my rear guard and installing LED rear/brake/inicators plus two number plate leds last night.
 
Looking forward the seeing yours done. Green? Does that match up with other colours on your bike or just trying something defferent?

Just doing something different that will give more visibility. I think it will look good but only time will tell.
 
You may want to just lay the red lens over it for testing before gluing it in permanently. The design of the wide LED you are installing may yield a dimmer and smaller light because it is not designed like an incandescent bulb to reflect the light off all of the chrome reflectors inside the base. Good luck. Please post before and after picture when you are done.
 

Good idea. I do plan on trying it out before I glue it shut.
