Leather Jackets....

Never wash leather.
Only topically wipe it clean.
Leatherique or other similar oil soaking that forces dirt out and conditions leather would be used. If properly cared for a leather jacket will outlive your riding career.

The only way I clean my leather is by wiping it down, and giving it a duck oil treatment every year.

There are only 2 types of leather care. Garage queen or weathered. Both require the same care. One just more often.
Totally agree, I've had my set of leather jacket and full overpants for decades and they have been through a lot, definitely well weathered but solid and they look great. I use this stuff that's a blend of pine pitch and mink oil once a year at most as I have found out that too much will cause leather spew. I have had to deal with that over last winter on my jacket only though, which was weird, and after wiping that oxidation off every few weeks it's gone now. Cold weather promotes that action more and I've probably been over doing it with oil applications every 6 months. I would use this conditioner which is made with pine pitch, mink oil and beeswax for the winter and I probably promoted the spew by over saturating it.

The leathurique cleaner works flawlessly for that too.
