Kickstand upgrade...the cheap and easy way.

Agreed - I was just looking for something that was attached to the kickstand and would not scratch the epoxy floor. For now, I'll continue to use the one I have now.
I don't have saddlebags on the R3, so carrying the pad around is not fun.
gotcha, is that like home depot DIY garage epoxy? thats why! those clear coat toppers work wonders!

no - actually had it professionally done. Looks really good, so I don't want to damage it if possible
THAT IS AWESOME. great thing about epoxy like that is its easy to repair if it does happen. A customer of mine had me tile his entire 3 car garage. He put some double sided tape and a rubber pad down for his motorcycles. his argument was that if he parks somewhere his kickstand gets asphalt and rocks stuck to the bottom and the same thing might happen to your kick stand attachment as well. The story of the bottle cap stuck to the bottom of a magnetic tank bag scratching the tanks paint comes to mind here!
I have done a few dozen counter top epoxies before and i can tell you that if that is a quality epoxy, there is no way you are going to damage it unless its a very aggressive thing you do like try and rotate the bike with gravel stuck to the bottom of your kick stand and 9/10 times it can be buffed out easily.

I can confirm that putting the kickstand down on my harley would scratch the epoxy (the jiffy stand on the harley slides about half an inch after the weight of the bike starts being applied on it - and the stand then locks in place - will not let the bike roll forward even on a slope). So, yeah, I did get a scratch down to the concrete on my first day with the harley, and I am careful to not do that again Thankfully it was relatively easy to patch (and the installer did it for free)

To date, the only after market part for the kickstand is from Xray in Italy at $100 usd.

Isn‘t it 55$ + postage? Also take care that it is just 2mm thick underneath the kickstand foot, which is probably not the case with this Chinese. I don’t think this price difference is worth hassle.

This foot stand is about 1/8" or roughly 3mm.

Well, that is 1mm more. Some people are worried that wind may topple their bikes even without such accessories so in this case less is better than more. For me, that is not an important argument but our bikes cost a lot of money anyways so 55 bucks is not an amount that worries me. If I could precisely machine such part I would maybe do it on my own but otherwise if I can't make it better, I just buy it.
