You say you purchased JUST the "key" and downloaded a tune?
Do you have the tuneboy for another bike, or just know someone with one?
I was thinking of doing this myself is the reason I'm askin'.
I've got a member with a tuneboy lives a short distance from me,
couldn't see any reason to get it all and TRY to figure it out,
when he already has.

Went with dealer offroad tune.. $30, worth a try....some decel pop but I can control it with throttle and clutch...took bike out and gradually revved it to 4000rpm 1st gear and cracked it...used to get a 6 inch wheelie for 5 feet, now I almost left fender paint on pavement...I am very happy so far...has anyone ran the small red fairing from triumph? is it a good looking piece?? I have the tallest windshield from cee bailey
and with the jardines it has an irritatating resonance...thought small windshield might dull resonance..

Welcome from another site newbie! Looks like we're on a similar path. I know what you mean about the winter weather... I actually had to ride in the snow this winter for one day, and today it was all I could do to put my mesh jacket and gloves on and ride in the 78 degree weather. Ok, so that's not cool - sorry
