Is this an Intervention??

Hi from the UK.

Just picked up a Rocket! 2017 Roadster with under 6k miles on the clock. Mostly unmolested, except for a few shenanigans.

Now the work begins - gonna get rid of that hideous exhaust and go with a nicer unit. Also needs a tail tidy kit and LED turn signals. Maybe different mirrors.

Interestingly, it came with Progressive Suspension rear shocks.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to consider upgrading the fork springs with progresssives. While you're in there replace the fork oil. Also have you adjusted your static sag? Depending on what version of Progressive shocks you have you'll probably need to fiddle the rebound or compression damping a bit (if equipped). A lot of people put upgraded equipment on their rides but leave them at factory settings, the ride is improved but not optimized.

Agreed. As a former competitive racer and track instructor, I'm particular on suspensions. The rear shocks on this bike look like 412s, which are Progressive's lower end units. I'm sure that I'll end up replacing them sometime this year. My plan for the forks is to replace them with linear springs with the appropriate spring rate (for heavy cruisers, 0.85-0.90 kg/mm works well for me).

Striple, may I take advantage of your knowledge? I just purchased a 2023 R3GT. The suspension settings made by the dealer were way off recommended. I followed the book because my knowledge of suspension settings is limited. For a 180lb rider, who rides a tad towards aggressive. how should I set the suspension?
Thanks

You are aware your asking for settings for your bike that is not the same as his???
