I am thinking about adding a mount for an old iPhone 4S that I am currently not using. I want a mount that will position the iPhone horizontally between the gauges and my flyscreen. I want to use the iPhone just for GPS, tracking apps and music via bluetooth. I did a search for iPhone mounts on the site and found a few but none with a clear photos showing the mounting details or the model of the mount. I hope that there will be enough room to still access the key and that the flyscreen will provide some measure of water protection as well as shield the screen from the glare of the sun. Has anybody done this?

I mounted mine exactly the same way for iphone 5s , ill drag out the cover when i get home and see if i can get a website for you. Mine worked great for my trip down South last Oct for RDU , no good to me now though as i up graded to an iphone 6+ so need a new cover , hopefully once i find the website i bought it from i can get an Iphone 6 cover.

The bracket that holds the phone is designed to mount on the handle bar , what i did was steal the Mrs totem tennis pole and chop off the size piece i needed , i cut the ends leaving a tab each end that mounts between the screen and the screen bracket , both ends are insulated with 2 rubber grommets per side to cushion mount the fitting, hasnt moved yet :)

Will do mate, the cover i had for the 5 was great hopefully they are making the one for the 6 by now.

Was trying to find the site for the mount/case i have, no luck but stummbled across this from which i have now purchased a cover and mount for my 6Plus :) , with express post from the states cost just under $100 Aus
If i like the quallity i'll get a mount for the car as well.

I did a little "Southern engineering" and modified my old iPhone holster to fit a ram mount. I used a Dremel to bore out the oval holes for the camera which can be mounted up or down as well as forward and rearward. I usually have a rubber band wrapped around to ensure it doesn't come loose, but it's pretty snug without it.

Do you have pictures of how you made it fit the RAM mount?

Look at lifeproof case and bike mount. Totally waterproof. But for me gps on a iPhone 4 and 5 are too small to see with all the bouncing around.
