Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX, 2022
Hi everyone, I’m Harey Gough, a hobbiest bike rider with a passion for long-distance touring. I’ve recently joined this forum to share my experiences and learn more about accessories that can help me ride with comfort and practicality. Looking forward to connect with fellow riders and exchanging tips on the best gear for our adventures!

WELCOME!
What do you ride & what kind of mileage are your trips?
Currently I am riding Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX looking forward to a upgrade to an H2R some day, and my trips are 180 to 200 miles on a weekend and what about you, what do you ride?

Welcome to the forum. I have had a bunch of bikes. I had Ninjas from the very first models on through the years. The Ninja 1000 had such terrible handlebar vibes it made my hands go numb like few other bikes. Super heavy bar end weight help quell the somewhat. Reflashing the ECU helped with the jerky throttle response. I was putting 1200 miles a week on it commuting; 600 miles to work on Sunday, 600 miles back home on Thursday. I put almost 50k miles on it in a year and it was flawless with respect to reliability. Oh yeah, almost forgot, one of the worst motorcycle seats I've ever had. It was the equivalent of an iron maiden for my butt.

I don't think you'll take many trips on the H2R since it is a track bike. I had the H2 SX and picked up the ZH2 as well. If you plan to ride a lot of miles I'd consider the H2 SX or the 14 Connie. The 14 Connie is comfortable and fast.

For any of the H2's with their supercharged engines, they are thirsty. Their fuel mileage is pretty similar to what my Rocket 3R gets and the supercharged Kawis will be even worse than the Rocket when hard on the throttle. Given your relatively short trip length, it might not be much of an issue for you. A Rocket also might be a good option as well. The truckloads of torque is a lot of fun and more useful than the high RPM HP of the supercharged Kawis for daily riding and touring. It really doesn't care what gear you are in, there is always good grunt at the twist of your wrist.

Welcome from sunny North Texas. Your choice of ride is as personal as your choice of cologne. What works for long distance should first be evaluated as what is long distance for you. The longest day I've ever had in the saddle is 1080 miles to earn my IBA certificate. That was 22 hours of riding in miserably hot conditions, one I won't repeat. That was on my 2005 Rocket III standard done in 2012. Now I ride (mostly) my Speed Triple RS and Thruxton R (with a fair amount of time on my T-120 Black and Bobber Black). But now 80 miles in a day is long distance for me, so it depends on how you define long distance.
