One at a time , bolt top and bottom , undo , pull of and refit new shock . I did not even use a jack , just pulled it over on to side stand . If you use a jack could pobably do both at same time . :?
Texas,
Just did mine one week ago. EXTREEMELY simple. I have a jack so I lifted the weight off but left the back tire barely touching. Took less that 30 min start to finish. I could do another rocket in 10 min this time...now that I've done it once. Nothing really to look out for....very simple.
Careful not to let bike tip over, i put bricks under both sides of frame to help balance when jacked up under engine in middle...and not let bike tip.. with just wood under the engine it was a little unstable..
I also used a jack, had two people and was glad of it, just for company. I had to drop the Jardines to at the bottom bolt. Remarkable improvement in the corners, standard spring, softest setting and I weigh 260#
