Installed the heated grips today. No instructions in box, but downloaded from here (thanks R3owners). Harness was already installed from factory on my '25 R Storm, so when removed original grips and windscreen cover, the harness and connectors at bar ends were there and ready to connect to each new heated grip. Bit of a struggle pulling electric cables into the handle bars once connected to grips, from behind the windscreen (had to pull out from the bars ends a bit then from windscreen area to loosen the pathway within the bars. (Note: If anyone pulled the wire before hooking up to the grips and lost the wire into the handlebar, let me know as I pulled wrong side before connected to grip and had to spend about 30 minutes jigging a wire grabber (makeshift drain hair remover out of a large zip tie). Re-tucking the wiring harnesses in behind the windscreen is a bit of an art. One may want to take a pic of the wires as soon as the windscreen cover is removed, as the heated grip wiring pulled out of the handlebars will of course take up space (the instructions show a way to fold and tuck them). Now just trying to figure out how to remove the service warning light (my service interval shows "Today" as the service date, that I can't change ) - any help on this appreciated.
(Update: Called my brother who works at Triumph dealer and he said must come into shop to reset...free service they offer.)
Did you disconnect the battery during the install? When battery is disconnected, the clock and date reset causing the service light to come on. Once date is updated the service light goes away. If the heated grips tripped it, then that is different.
