Idea's for a tool kit

I carry 60 ounces of drinking water or sports drink, the factory tool kit, well it looks the part. Maybe a snack. A lithium ion emergency battery, cell phone, gps, and whatever is in my tour pack. I am fairly sure of what my bike may do, based on the things I have done to it such as extra electrical devices...whose connections may work loose....but take little effort to tighten up. Anything worse and I will be calling Good Sam.
 
What you need may depend on the kind of riding or trip you are taking. In the least I recommend a Leatherman-type multi-tool, medium size crescent wrench, and zipties!...Small and large varieties...electric tape, and rubber bands even come in handy...I camp a lot, so I even carry a mini-hammer/hatchet.
 
Thanks for the suggestions, i think i have a pretty good start on a kit, splug wrench, sockets, wrenches, vice grips, needle nose pliers, screwdriver and bits, head mounted and hand held light, bailing wire, electrical tape, and portable air pump, and if necessary jumper cables. for my type of riding, i never know what i'll be doing, could be just romping around the city in which case no big deal, or if i'm with other people there idea of a ride around the area encompasses about 150km in any and all directions
 
Quick-clot. Forced by the wife (she's an EMT, and so I trust her on this stuff). If my leg falls off I won't bleed to death. Keep a couple of packs in the bikes and cars.

Had my heated-grips do their failure thing, and fixed it by using florist wire from a florist that was the nearest open shop. Now I keep some as it's useful, easily bendable strong wire.

Thicker 12ga wire for any other wiring type task.

Lots of fuses.

And, most of the stuff people have mentioned above.
 

I'll look into the quick clot, and Fuses, man i forgot fuses, definitely have to fix that, Thanks
 
Yes...a First Aid Kit is a MUST!...have had several fellow riders take spills and get minor scrapes.
 
Kriega Tool Roll and then stock it with the tools you'll need. It's a little larger than the stock useless little pouch, but it also fits more. Stock it with stuff, then work exclusively out of it when you're home. You'll probably discover you need something else and then after a while you have everything you need for routine stuff (the kind of work you can realistically do on the road) in there. That's what I did anyway.
